데미안 허스트의 <살아있는 누군가의 마음 속 죽음의 물리적 불가능성>이라는 작품을 패러디했다. 데미안 허스트는 위의 작품에서 상어가 물에 떠있는 것처럼 연출하기 위해 조형물의 천장 부분에 상어를 매달아 고정했는데, 그것과 반대로, 나는 쇠사슬을 만들어 조형물의 바닥과 배를 고정해 놓았다. 이는 물 위로 떠오를 수밖에 없는 스티로폼 배를 물 속에 붙잡아 두는 역할을 한다. 그리고 원작의 연출이나 현학적인 제목을 그대로 차용해 세월호 사건의 비극성을 역설적으로 강조했다. 이 작품이 세월호 사건에 대한 기억과 데미안 허스트의 원작과의 관계 속에서 대립하거나 조응하면서 입체적인 의미를 만들길 의도했다.

This is the pradody of "The Physical Impossibility of Death in the Mind of Someone Living" by Damien Hirst. In his work, the dead shark is hanged on the ceiling with wires to make it look like floating in the water. Contrary to that, I made chains to keep the ship from floating and fastened it with ground then stirofoam ship is submerged in water still. And I borrow the original title of Damien's work to emphasize the Sewol ferry tragidy. In my piece, the memory about Sewol ferry tragidy and original work of Damien Hisrt make multilayered meaning while opposing and corresponding to each other.
